"This guide will get rid of the fake engine noise played through the speakers.
I need to point out that I’m no expert and I did this without any wiring diagrams, it was a case of removing wires until the noise went away.
FOLLOW AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Firstly the interior stereo trim needs to be removed. Start with this section that separates the climate control from the sync screen.
Then remove the four T25 Torx screws.
The gear stick surround needs to be removed next, you need to lift up from the cup holder end, and then pull towards you.
This will reveal another Torx, remove this.
Lift up from the cup holder end and pull towards you, this is connected to the gear stick and cables underneath but there will be enough movement to get it clear. You don’t need to completely remove it.
Next is the screen surround, this is the biggest section. You need to pull out from the bottom, where the four Torx screws were. There is a lot of resistance, be VERY careful as there is a cable connector connected to the volume control area and it does not have much cable.
You’ll then be left with this.
You need to remove the cd/amp unit, it’s held in with 2 Torx screws (they are removed in the picture) and pull the unit out.
Pull out all the connectors in the back. The connector you need is the one that was in the port that is arrowed.
On that connector you need to remove the WHITE and BLUE/WHITE cables, you can do this by cutting (the easy way) or by pulling the metal connectors out of the block.
Before you remove the metal connector from the block the plastic insert needs to be removed.
To do this you need and jewellers screwdriver or something thin and long, I used a sewing needle.
Once they’re out you should tape the metal ends up separately with insulation tape.
Then put everything else back together."
